Oven-Roasted Asparagus

1 bunch thin asparagus spears, trimmed
3 tablespoons olive oil
1 1/2 tablespoons grated Parmesan cheese (optional)
1 clove garlic, minced (optional)
1/4 teaspoon sea salt, or to taste
1/2 teaspoon ground black pepper, or to taste
1 tablespoon lemon juice (optional)

Directions

  1. Preheat the oven to 425°F (220°C).
  2. Place 1 bunch thin asparagus spears into a mixing bowl, drizzle with 3 tablespoons olive oil, and toss to coat.
  3. Sprinkle with 1 1/2 tablespoons grated Parmesan cheese and 1 clove garlic; season with 1/4 teaspoon sea salt and 1/2 teaspoon ground black pepper to taste.
  4. Arrange asparagus in a single layer in a baking dish or on a rimmed baking sheet.
  5. Bake in the preheated oven until just tender, 12 to 15 minutes depending on thickness.
  6. Sprinkle with 1 tablespoon lemon juice just before serving, and serve immediately for the best texture.
