Kitchen notes
Notes
- Makes 30 servings. Batch weighs 98.2 g total (75 + 11.5 + 11.7), so one serving is 98.2 / 30 = 3.27 g, call it 3.3 g.
- I typically make ~90 servings (3 batches) at a time.
- If you use di-magnesium malate instead, the batch weighs 94.5 g (75 + 11.5 + 8) and a serving is 94.5 / 30 = 3.15 g.
- A level 1/2 teaspoon lands close to 3.3 g with fine salt, but grind and packing change that a lot. Weigh it on a gram scale if you want the doses to be right.
- One 3.3 g serving supplies 2,500 mg sodium chloride, which provides 1,000 mg sodium.
- One serving supplies 383 mg potassium chloride, which provides 200 mg potassium.
- One serving supplies 390 mg magnesium malate (or 265 mg di-magnesium malate), which provides 60 mg magnesium.
- Add 2 tablespoons lime juice and a dash of stevia to a single serving to make LMNT Citrus Salt.
- Mix into 16 to 32 oz of water. Less water tastes saltier, more water tastes flatter.
- Store the powder in an airtight jar. It clumps if it picks up humidity, so shake before scooping.
